Reactive vs Proactive

Being proactive gives you more control but uses more resources to seek out good opportunities. Being reactive means you may not be taking the optimal opportunities, but because the opportunity is being handed to you, you save resources. Related: optimizing vs satisficing

Because of bounded rationality, you can’t weigh up options forever, so at some point you have to decide to act. But how do you decide how much time to allocate to deciding? And how much time to that? At some point it seems to just ground out to intuition.

This has implications for how many orders of effects you can think through you may consciously decide to ignore later flow-through effects. Though some people critique your decision by pointing out some nuance consideration or far off flow through effect that you decided not to take into account.
